How Long Do I Need Coaching For?

How to get support without locking yourself in.

When your future feels like a moving target, it’s hard to commit to anything—let alone six months of coaching.

I hear this often from people navigating transitions or uncertainty:

  • “I just don’t know what my schedule will look like in six months.”

  • “What if I start coaching and then something big shifts at work?”

  • “I want to do this—but I don’t want to feel locked in.”

Here’s my take: I don’t believe in shoehorning someone into a container that doesn’t fit their reality. (Not really my jam as an Authenticity Coach).

The goal isn’t to trap you into a commitment—it’s to give you the steadiness you need to find clarity and confidence for whatever comes next.

Quote over an image of water. “Do not be rigid, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. Be water, my friend.” – BRUCE LEE

Coaching should bend with your life, not break it.

Some of my clients work with me for a year straight to excavate the mindsets, habits, and relationships that have been holding them back.

Some do three months on, three months off, which helps them be present with family and friends during summer and winter while still making time for their personal development.

Some clients work with me for six months every year to make sure their choices are all adding up to the destination they want to get to.

This isn’t a gym membership after all. It’s a relationship built around the different seasons of life.

Why I (mostly) recommend six-month of coaching.

That’s because deep change takes time.

Most of my clients come in carrying years (or decades) of survival mode, over-functioning, burnout, or performance pressure.

They’re not just making a career decision—they’re untangling their identity from old roles and expectations.

Six months gives you the space to:

  • Slow down and hear your own voice again

  • Test new boundaries and notice what shifts

  • Re-pattern your relationship with work, rest, or conflict

  • Make decisions from clarity, not someone else’s urgency

This is what makes 1:1 authenticity coaching different from a self-help book or a one-time workshop. You create change that sticks because you have a coach steadily by your side, helping you see your patterns and progress.

What if something changes while we’re working together?

Let’s be honest: it probably will. But it doesn’t have to be a problem.

Coaching with me isn’t rigid—it’s responsive. If your job shifts, your business goes into “event mode,” or a new opportunity comes up, we adjust. We can change pace, reschedule sessions, or shift focus based on what’s happening in real time.

In fact, some of the most powerful coaching happens because life is in motion. That’s when the real decisions need to be made. That’s when old patterns show up. And that’s when it helps to have someone walking with you—not asking you to “just hang in there” until the dust settles.

You just need to be open to movement—and we’ll shape the support around that.

One client told me:

I thought I needed to wait until I knew my next move. But starting coaching helped me make that move faster, and with way more confidence than I would’ve on my own.
— Tanvi Mittal

You don’t need to predict your next six months.

You just need to know you want something to shift and be willing to explore it with support.

Let’s find the pace that works for you!

If you’re holding back because commitment feels risky or too final, let’s talk about it.

Coaching with me isn’t one-size-fits-all. You get to shape coaching around your life.
