Always Taking Care of Everything? Your Leadership Might Be Paying the Price

Many of us grew up as caregivers long before we had the language for it.

We were the translators, the peacemakers, the appointment schedulers, the ones who noticed the mood in the room and responded accordingly.

As kids, we learned to anticipate needs, keep the peace, and take on responsibility—at home, at school, and eventually at work. If you grew up in an immigrant household, you learn to see this as love. But as adults, especially as first-gens managers and leaders, that same caregiving can mean we put ourselves last.

Join Betty Chan, Authenticity Coach, and Rosa Revuelta, Leadership and Team Coach, for a heartfelt conversation on how early caregiving roles shape who we become—and how we begin to reclaim our time, energy, and identity. We’ll explore how this pattern shows up in relationships, work, leadership, and even in how we define success. Most importantly, we’ll share how we’re learning to shift from reaction to choice—with compassion, clarity, and care.

What to expect:

  • A deep dive into caregiving as identity: where it begins and why it’s so sticky

  • How self-abandonment can hide under success, helpfulness, and over-responsibility

  • Mindset shifts and everyday practices for reclaiming your energy without guilt

  • Real stories, reflection, and space to feel seen
